About CAF
The CEPT Advisory Foundation (CAF) works with governments and institutions on planning, infrastructure, and urban development assignments across India.
Through eight thematic centres, CAF undertakes research-led advisory and capacity-building work across a range of urban and regional development domains. Its work spans the full project cycle—from policy formulation and strategic planning to preparation of plans and regulations, implementation support, and training.
The CEPT Advisory Foundation (CAF) is a Section 8, non-profit company promoted by CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Established in 2023, CAF builds on decades of CEPT’s experience in research, advisory, and capacity building. Founded in 1962 and recognised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, as a Centre of Excellence in Urban Planning and Design, CEPT University has played an important role in advancing knowledge and practice in the built environment.

Our Legacy
CEPT University has over four decades of experience in consultancy, research, and advisory services. Its work spans disaster relief and rehabilitation following the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, preparation of the nomination dossier that led to Ahmedabad's inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage City in 2017, and numerous initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in towns and cities across India.
To manage its growing portfolio of advisory and research engagements, CEPT University established the CEPT Research and Development Foundation (CRDF) in 2013 as a wholly owned Section 8 company. CAF was subsequently formed to further streamline and expand advisory services under a dedicated institutional framework.
